The Mugho Pine Bonsai Comes From Europe to Your Garden

Posted in: Health & Fitness |

If you’re looking for a great dark green conifer bonsai to add to your outdoor bonsai tree garden, you may want to look at the Mugho Pine. This outdoor bonsai originated in central Europe, specifically in the mountains, and it features stiff, dark green needles that are a few inches long. The tree also features very compact branching systems that make it perfect for sculpting and shaping. It comes in several different varieties, some of which are upright, some of which lean dramatically to one side or the other. The Mugho Pine also produces a number of types of cones as well.

When it comes to shaping your Mugho Pine bonsai, there are a number of rules regarding the trunk that you should remember to follow. First of all, the trunk should lean a bit to one side, ideally in the direction of the viewer. It should also flare a bit at the base, and its apex should also lean towards the viewer. Don’t forget that while the roots should radiate out from the trunk, they should also not poke out of the ground, especially not at viewing level. Overall, the bonsai’s trunk should be about six times the height of its caliper
