Victorian Beveled Glass Fireplace Screen

If you look up beveled glass in Wikipedia it will explain that its usually made by taking a pane of clear glass that’s a quarter of an inch thick and then creating a one inch bevel – that being a cut that is something other than ninety degrees – around the entire circumference. The practice came about as a way to embellish plain, clear glass and create light refracting prisms to highlight the work.
