Taulis is a small Catalan villagein the Aspres region at the foothills of the Pyrenees in the Languedoc-Rousillon region of France. Taulis is popular with tourists as the area is hilly and forested making it popular with walkers, cyclists and those interested in wildlife, particularly butterflies. Taulis dates back to 853 and its church dates from  1271. The permanent population is a small 45. The nearest town is Amelie-Les-Bains, about 7 km away, which has all the usual shops needed for daily life. The nearest nearest village, St Marsal, at about 5km. Taulis is an ideal retreat for those wanting to get back to nature and away from the bustle and stress of city life.
